Canada Summer Jobs (see link for eligibility)

All applicants need to be able to write stories for children in French and English, have basic Internet and computer skills and have an interest in historical research & story telling. A working knowledge of video interviewing an asset. Priority will be given to aboriginals, disabled persons and members of visible minorities.

Network & Heritage Consultant (Post Secondary - position filled)

To contact organizations in the constituency (Edmonton - Spruce Grove) that work with persons with disabilities, newcomers to Canada, disadvantaged children & youth, seniors, Aboriginal people and members of visible minorities, with the view of developing a network of organizations that work with these groups. Part of the project will be to research the history of the above mentioned groups, especially interviewing seniors to create a digital archive for current and future use. The results of the research will be used to develop and present historical stories, in both French and English, for use in schools and the community. The project will use the Internet and other digital technology (especially digital versions of local history books).

Network & Heritage Assistant. (High School - Six weeks starting July 6th - Position filled)

To assist in researching the history of persons with disabilities, newcomers to Canada, disadvantaged children & youth, seniors, Aboriginal people and members of visible minorities, especially interviewing seniors to create a digital archive for current and future use. The results of the research will be used to develop and present historical stories, in both French and English, for use in schools and the community. The project will use the Internet and other digital technology (especially digital versions of local history books). Duties will also include participating in fund raising activities.
