Family and Community Digtal Heritage Projects 2010

Building on our previous experience FACTSnet is proposing to following developments, in 2010, for the following digital heritage projects stages.
  1. Stage 1: Using Existing Digital Resources  - This stage is well developed for using digital files from local histories.  These files will continue to be used in stages 3-5
  2. Stage 2: Creating New Digital Resources - This will be the emphasis of our projects this year as we work with Families, Seniors and Youth to get pre-digital era heritage resources digitized.
  3. Stage 3: Developing Presentations - is less urgent as presentation can be done from digital files after our Seniors have left us but are necessary to make the digital files more useful.
  4. Stage 4: Integrating Presentations - This stage is important for making presentations more useful for broader audiences.  The emphasis in 2010 will be to begin creating the digital equivelent of local history books by integrating family presentations with other resources.
  5. Stage 5: Indexing Resources and Presentations - Different people have different interests in heritage resources.   An effective indexing system will help them find the resources they are looking for easily.   FACTSnet indexes will be develop further in 2010 to make this happen.
Most of the development mentioned above will take place in the summer see FACTSnet Summer 2010
