Cultural Network Developer (Post-Secondary Edmonton)

The primary task will be to develop Community Language Culture and Heritage Networks and to host a networking event for organizations and individuals interested in these networks. The networks will involve families, teachers, students, parents, and seniors,  A special effort will be made to include groups that work with, aboriginals, persons with disabilities, and newcomers to Canada. In developing the networks, a study of language (French and others), culture and heritage within our constituency (Edmonton Strathcona) will be undertaken in relationship to educational and community programs. This study will explore Internet and other options for schools, teachers, students and families in relationship to Language, Social Science and Social Studies curriculum, emphasizing multiple perspectives. Studies in education, culture and language an asset for this position. The summer employee may also participate in other FACTnet blogs and projects as required and needs to support the values of FACTS and their partners.
