Japan Exchange Program
FACTS (Family And Community Twining Society) is seeking to partner with schools and other organizations in Alberta and Japan to develop networks related to the Alberta K-12 curriculum. Since Alberta students in grade 8 study Japanese history in Social Studies, we are exploring the possibilities of developing networks with schools, families and students in Japan. Alberta students who participate in these networks would learn about Japan from contact with Japanese students and Japanese students would be able to improve their English. One of the ways students could network with each other is over the Internet, Another way is to set up exchange programs so students and their families could visit one another. FACTS plans to set up a pilot Internet network in May and June of 2010 (See Job Posting for: International Exchange and Network Developer) and to send one or two families to visit Japan to explore the possibilities for exchange programs.
