Not Funded FACTSnet Summer Jobs 2011

These are the proposed jobs that were not given funding for the summer of 2011:

Community Network Technical Coordinator (West Edmonton)

This  person will investigate the use of technology (including digital media and video) in setting up community networks.   These networks involve families, teachers, students, parents, and seniors.  Special efforts will be made to include aboriginals, persons with disabilities, and newcomers to Canada and the use of French language.  Ability in web programing and blog template development an asset for this position.  The employee must support the values of FACTS and their partners, as well as work on other FACTSnet projects, as required.  Research, training and network development may take place at various sites within and outside the constituency and over the Internet.

Community Network Developer (West Edmonton)

The main tasks will be to assist our consultants and volunteers in developing long term networks within our constituency (Edmonton Spruce Grove), that work with families, teachers, students, parents, and seniors for the benefit of present and future generations.   A special effort will be made to contact groups that work with, aboriginals, persons with disabilities, and newcomers to Canada and use French language.  Networks will build on existing FACTS networks and the development new networks as required.  Development of a Language, Culture and Heritage network will involve researching past, present and future of social science education (including the Arts, Social Studies and Language) within our constituency,  Assist in hosting one or more community dialogues, with the view of this becoming and annual event The employee must support the values of FACTS and their partners, as well as work on other FACTSnet projects, as required.  Research, training and network development may take place at various sites within and outside the constituency and over the Internet.

Community Network Developer (Millwoods - ESL)

The main tasks will be to assist our consultants and volunteers in developing long term networks within our constituency, that work with families, teachers, students, parents, and seniors for the benefit of present and future generations.   A special effort will be made to contact groups that work with, aboriginals, persons with disabilities, and newcomers to Canada and use French language.  Networks will build on existing FACTS networks and the development new networks as required.  Development of a Language, Culture and Heritage network will involve researching past, present and future of social science education (including the Arts, Social Studies and Language etc.) within our constituency,  Training in TESL (Teaching English As a Second Language) an asset for this position.  The employee must support the values of FACTS and their partners, as well as work on other FACTSnet projects, as required .  Research, training and network development may take place at various sites within and outside the constituency and over the Internet.
