Summer 2014 Network Indexing Coordinator proposal

FACTsnet is hoping to hire a student to fill the position of Network Indexing Coordinator (title?) for its summer 2014 iteration. As the team member responsible for most initiatives in this area during 2013, I have proposed the following projects and duties for the position.
  • Find and implement a user-friendly 'archive' function accessible from anywhere in the FACTSnet system 
  • Identify key information - both for individual blogs and network-wide - to be included in an indexing system
  • Create a consistent indexing system accessible from anywhere in the FACTSnet system
  • Create an online data storage system for old posts and information that is viewable only by FACTSnet network members
The primary objective of this position should be to improve the user-friendliness of the network in a way that is consistent with current technology, but efficient and in keeping with FACTSnet professional standards.

  • Created the Adaptabilties Information Network

  • CTS curriculum and teaching program with two deaf boys from Millwoods constituency

Summer Coordinator for School/Community Networks 2013 summary

- Publishing IT blog in Education and Arts.
- Publishing educational blogs. 
- Reading Educational blogs and summarize them.
- Assisting other team members with their projects.
- Setting up data bases and address books using SeaMonkey.
- Tech support for our meeting ( such as projector, recording), anymeetings and webinars. 
- Following up with other team members blogs and commenting them.

Summer 2014 School/Community Network Editor proposal

For the summer of 2014, FACTsnet is looking to hire a student to fill the position of School/Community Network Editor. As the de facto editor for FACTsnet this summer, those are my proposals for projects that should be worked on by the person hired for this position.

- Edit FACTsnet blog network posts for formatting, ease of use, spelling and grammar
- Determine which posts are still currently relevant and which should be archived. Archive outdated posts.
- Create a new navigational plan to make it easy to find needed blog posts without fruitless searching
- Implement the navigational plan, including but not limited to: inserting appropriate hyperlinks, consolidating redundant blogs, archiving blogs with little or no content, minimizing the number of different indexes needed
- Edit and proofread all new blog content created by other FACTsnet Summer 2014 workers, and place them according to the navigational plan.

Summer 2013 Executive Assistant Summary

During the summer of 2013 the projects completed by the Executive Assistant were:
  • Supervised and created standardized procedures for FACTSnet Summer employees
  • Created new FACTSnet Meeting template
  • Prepared training documents for next year's FACTSnet Summer employees
  • Helped facilitate sharing of information and scheduling between employees

Executive Assistant

The projects that the Executive Assistant should work on are:
  • Ensure that all FACTSnet employees develop good habits in the beginning and follow the procedures.
  • Review the procedures in order to improve upon them (increase efficiency)
  • Review job descriptions and make sure that all employees know who is performing what role. That way, there is no confusion as to who employees can turn to for help when needed.
  • Maintain organization of Google Drive Documents so that information is easy to find.

During the summer of 2013 the projects completed by the Technical Coordinator for Community Networks were:
  • Created Blogger Training Manual
  • Found and modified new template for FACTSnet blogs
  • Assisted with implementing any new technologies
  • Created posts for the 150th Anniversary of the Grey Nuns
