  • For students, who do well, we offer bonuses and advertise future consulting opportunities for them.

  • We also offer 20% of your time to work on approved projects initiated by you that relate to your job.  For example, you could work on a project for your campus club

February 13th Summer Jobs Workshop and Information Session (CSJ)

When: 4:30 pm, February 13th 2013.  Where: Campus Saint Jean, room 2-51

We will start with the information session (about 30 minutes), which will highlight opportunities for summer employment with the Not for Profit sector, emphasizing FACTSnet Summer Jobs 2013 . 
  • To apply for a summer job you need to be a full time student (ages 15-30) who is going back to school next fall, a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant. see above link for more details.

The Information Session will be followed by a workshop to write job descriptions to apply for Canada Summer Jobs funding.  Bring a notebook computer or other device to access the Internet.

  1. These descriptions will be tailored to individual interests, wherever possible.

  2. The opportunities are varied.  Scroll down the FACTSnet Index to see blogs that have been worked on by previous summer students. There is a lot of work needed on Francophone networking and our French blogs


  3. In preparation for the workshop, email your resume and statement of interest to factsc@gmail.com

Summer Opportunities for Business Students 2013

The opportunities for business students who are interested in the Not for Profit sector is almost limitless.  Besides handling payroll and other basic summer business duties, there is room for developing business and community networks and exploring possibilities for FACTSnet development.  This year we could hire more than one business student with each student emphasizing a different aspect of FACTSnet.  See links below for what previous Summer Business Managers have done:

The job description for this year could be used as a starting point for summer 2013 job descriptions.  Besides supervising the other jobs listed, the business manager worked with a volunteer to develop a custom template for FACTSnet blogs.
